Blankingship & Keith Attorneys Secure Supreme Court of Virginia Win
Blankingship & Keith secured a victory for client Vowell, LLC before the Supreme Court of Virginia, arguing for both Vowell and co-defendant, City of Alexandria. The Court found that the Historic Alexandria Foundation did not have legal grounds to appeal after the City Council signed off on a project involving the renovation of a house once owned by the late Justice Hugo L. While the court acknowledged the foundation was established “to advocate for the preservation of Alexandria’s historic buildings, districts, and neighborhoods,” it found that the foundation’s mission didn’t give it standing to challenge the Council’s decision (May 27, 2021). The case was covered by the Washington Post and the National Law Journal
